11th Session of the Conference of States Parties to CRPD June 12-14, 2018

The 11th session of the Conference of States Parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) will take place from tomorrow, Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 June 2018 at UN Headquarters in New York. 

A Civil Society CRPD Forum is taking place, today Monday June 11, a head of the Conference. The forum is being streamed Live on UN WebTV.

The overarching theme of the Conference is “Leaving no one behind through the full implementation of the CRPD”. Three round tables will address the following themes:
  • Roundtable One: National fiscal space, public-private partnerships and international cooperation for strengthening the implementation of the CRPD
  • Roundtable Two: Women and girls with disabilities
  • Roundtable Three: Political participation and equal recognition before the law
  • Cross-cutting theme: Promoting high-quality disability statistics and disaggregation of data by disability status for the full realization of the rights of persons with disabilities.
IDA (The International Disability Alliance) and its Members are organising, participating in as speakers, or co-sponsoring over 20 side-events during the course of the Conference! The WBU is a member of IDA.
