WBU to host GLAD meeting

Global Affairs Canada, along with Inclusion International and World Blind Union, will co-host the next GLAD Network meeting in Ottawa, Canada, from 29 April to 1 May 2019.

The meeting will be co-chaired by the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the UK Department for International Development and the International Disability Alliance (IDA) and will include both a high level (ministerial segment) as well as substantive discussions to progress international cooperation in disability-inclusive development & humanitarian action.

The Network meeting will be an opportunity to further develop our shared commitment to disability inclusive development and humanitarian action in line with the UN CRPD and to support implementation and our accountability of disability inclusive commitments, in particular through meaningful engagement with DPOs.

GLAD (The Global Action on Disability) Network is a coordination body of bilateral and multilateral donors and agencies, the private sector and foundations working to enhance the inclusion of persons with disabilities in international development and humanitarian action.
