June 26, 2023 3:59 am Published by

In this event we discussed why localisation is such a powerful tool for breaking down accessibility barriers and creating more inclusive societies. It will highlight the critical role of local and regional governments and OPDs in ensuring that accessibility is a priority and that the rights of persons with disabilities are respected, promoted, and realised. This event is co-organised with a range of partners and will bring together UCLG, UN-Habitat, and IDA, to present and discuss key recommendations for States Parties to accelerate implementation of accessibility together with localisation efforts of the global agendas.

Host Organiser: World Blind Union (WBU)

Primary Co-organiser: United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) Other co-organisers: United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), International Disability Alliance (IDA), Cities for All Network, General Assembly of Partners (GAP) Partner Constituent Groups of Older Persons, and Persons with Disabilities
