The WBU is thrilled to announce the release of its latest report, “Closing the Accessibility Gap,” which provides a comprehensive overview of the progress and insights from its Global Programme for Inclusive and Accessible Urban Development (IAUD).

This report highlights the urgency to accelerate the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and its Article 9 on accessibility in tandem with the global agendas. This report showcases WBU’s journey, achievements, and learnings in promoting accessibility, fostering engagement, and ensuring multi-stakeholder collaboration towards cities for all. It strongly advocates for sustained investments in accessibility to advance inclusive, sustainable, and resilient cities and communities. The report also offers 19 key recommendations across the IAUD Programme areas to guide future actions by WBU, its partners, and allies.

We hope you find the report both informative and inspiring. Stay tuned for Spanish and French versions coming soon!
